Hey @Matthew Haskins, The legal team just reiterated that the only funds in a closing can go from broker to broker - never an unlicensed agent. Closing gifts (not money) can go to parties of the transaction.  

As far as the marketing piece you mention, an agent can "buy leads" from an individual, BUT.... they really need to be careful about what that can be construed of because of RESPA at the federal level. So yes, agents buy leads from all over the place, but I am guessing you might be hard pressed to find an agent willing to pay large fees per lead as it could have permanent negative repercussions on their license. @Tim Swierczek I think has a good idea, but again the cost being upfront (not in a closing situation) and within reasonable limits is a direction you could probably go.
