Hey guys,

So I recently finished playing college football which freed up a bunch of time for me to finally start working and saving. I was able to get a part time job making $12/hr and working about 34 hours a week while I finish up my last year/year and a half of school (which by then I'll be able to get a better job). I recently opened up an Ally Bank online savings account with 2.2% APR. Currently I am placing 70% of the money I am making from my part time job into this account. My goal is to reach FI by 32 (Currently 21). I plan on investing in a small multi-family and house hacking as my first investment. My question is should I continue to allocate most of my income into that savings account until I am able to make a move on a deal eventually or place the money I'm saving into Vanguard ETFs and start investing that way or go about this a completely different way? I know this is based on me and the goals I want to achieve but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Liam

@Tom Shallcross - I've heard good things about pretty much of all these books. Think and Grow Rich will probably be my next read, I've heard it's great.

I understand, I love reading and learning new information as well. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!

Hey guys!

Been heavy into the educating phase recently just finishing “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” “How to Win Friends and Influence People,” and most recently “The Book on Rental Property Investing.” Looking for some advice on the next real estate and/or business book I should jump into next.

Thanks,

Liam

Hey guys,

I'm Liam Beard and I'm excited to be staring this path in real estate investing. I am 21 years old and currently attend the University of Texas at San Antonio. I've actually played football for the university for the last two seasons but at this point I need to begin earning some money and get a job which I have not been able to do because of the time football took up. So in the spring semester I will begin looking for a job while I finish earning my bachelors degree over the next year and a half. I'm actually from the Austin area (Round Rock). Recently I have been introduced to real estate investing through some finance YouTube videos and I've honestly become a bit obsessed. I've already read a bunch of the guides found on this website and watched tons of videos found on the BP YouTube channel. Over the next year and a half as I finish up my bachelors degree I plan on saving up as much money as I can to begin investing; hopefully into a property I am able to house hack like a small duplex. Right now I'm just eager to learn more and create connections with a lot of you guys. If you're in the area or just feel like helping out a new guy learn some of the ropes feel free to reach out.  I look forward to connecting with you guys!
