That is actually exactly what we are doing! Our plan is to do STR from about April-October and then find a mid term tenant (or 2) for the winter months

Thanks @Yue Lehman! Our big draw is in October with the International Balloon Fiesta. Aside from that we are seeing a lot of traveling professionals as well as families visiting relatives. We also have a mid term rental in the same area that has been doing great on Furnished Finder.

Single-family residence other investment.

Cash invested: $16,000

We converted a long term rental into a short term rental. Cash invested went to furnishing, light renovation and landscaping

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

Looking to maximize our rental potential

How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

We have owned this property as a long term rental for about 12 years and decided to furnish it and convert it to a short term rental

How did you add value to the deal?

Cash invested went towards light reno, furnishing and landscaping.

What was the outcome?

So far so good-- lots of weekend bookings and great reviews!

Torry- We are in the process of doing just this right now! We have 2 SFR on the westside, that we have had a long term for the past 10 years. We converted one last September and are doing the other when our tenant moves out at the end of February. We are going the hybrid route, listing on both AirBnB and Furnished finder.
