Quote from @Charles Granja:
Quote from @Lesley Ray:

I have a rotting tree at one of my properties in Cleveland, OH and need to have it removed. Some of the branches got blown off during the last storm in December, but otherwise it is still upright. The neighbors have asked me to have it removed, as it looks like it's about to fall over any day onto their house/garage/boat. Has anyone had any luck with getting insurance to cover a preventative measure like this? It would be way more expensive and a headache to deal with the aftermath.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!

I recently bought a property and just paid someone to get it removed. Its best to deal with that situation promptly. Best of luck.

When you say pay someone to get it removed, you mean someone who was not a professional?

I definitely want to get it taken care of as soon as possible. Not only for the reasons stated but also because dealing with the aftermath of a fallen tree sounds way worse than the potential issue now.

The only quote I've recieved so far is for $5500, which is a lot to stomach. Hence why I was looking to see if insurance might chip in. @Arthur R. van der Vant

@Arthur R. van der Vant, your budgets give me hope that I can find a better quote. Cleveland is generally much cheaper than Chicago.

It's in an amazing location of SF. However, in the event that we couldn't Airbnb or SF changed their Airbnb regulations, we didn't feel confident enough in the comps that we could resell for what the agent was projecting.

@Dave Stokley nascent niche, exactly!! I'm pretty excited about this niche but am at a loss for how to run numbers on it. Airbnb has Airdna and other ways of measuring vacancy rate, but not sure how to do so with something like this...

Hi @Michael Baum the property is in San Francisco, so many large corporations in the area.

The space itself is around 700sqft but has amazing history with beautiful older Victorian detailing. Feels very speakeasy-ey. The thought was that company’s like Pottery Barn might be drawn to use it for photographing their products, or companies/individual might rent it for a small gathering. However, after further consideration I’ve realized I would need to permit separately as an assembly/gathering space for the latter option.

Hi all! Does anyone have experience with renting spaces to companies? Such as for company events/retreats, photo shoots, etc.

I’m trying to run numbers and am struggling with how to gauge hourly rate, vacancy etc.
