@Alex Forest Thanks Alex, we actually found a place in Greene County, Ruckersville to be exact. Separate question, what has your investment experience been in Central Virginia especially between Richmond and Charlottesville? Just wondering as my wife and I prepare to ventor into our first search from duplex.

Hello BP Family,

My family and I are moving to Charlottesville, VA in about 6-7 months. We are an Air Force family leaving from Fort Meade, MD and do not know much about the area outside of the news and local articles. We're interested in living a diverse community with great schools that include high test scores at both the HS and elementary levels. We are also looking for a realtor, however, we have not decided if we will buy or rent. From what we have seen it is a beautiful city especially for outdoor activities. We would definitely appreciate any advice, recommendation for neighborhoods and/or counties, and any references for realtors.

Any questions for me can be sent to my inbox or placed in the forum.

Thanks

@Natalie Cloutier Amazing! What type of loan did you use for the mortgage?

@George Despotopoulos I would not be flipping initially, it would be a hold, unless the return on investment of a flip works out better than it being a rental.

@George Despotopoulos I'll check that site out, appreciate it. The plan would be to purchase above that price point. At this point if I have to wait to to go all cash of my own, depending on the location, it may worth it. Though we are ready to get started. I have enjoyed my career this, but I really want to be a full time investor.

Thanks everyone for all the advise, keep it coming!

@Joseph Back I spent three years in Prattville, stationed at Maxwell AFB, it seems as if we rarely met young professionals moving to Montgomery. Have you been looking in the Montgomery area?

@Joseph Back I does thanks! What coincidence you invest in KY. A co-worker and I were talking a few days ago about investors focusing on markets in KY and other locations. May I ask, why there versus Montgomery?

@Michael Atkins Great, working on that now! However, if you run across any HML you reccomend, I would appreciate it even if I never use them.

@Michael Atkins Thanks for responding! I have not thought of that, also allows for a smaller interest rate to pay back when using the BRRRR method. I'll look into that. When using a LoC for purchase, is this viewed as cash?
