Hey @Keegan Schaub, I am looking in that area as well, being local from Dallas I drive down there all the time and I think in general that area is pretty solid but all my rentals are in DFW so I don't have hands-on experience just yet. Good luck to you!

Hi All,

I have a few LTRs in the DFW area but looking to expand into an STR in the hill country that we can use as a holiday home as well a few times a year. Has anyone from DFW looked into this? Just starting my research into the area but any suggestions or reading material would be much appreciated.

@Mark Hughes, I did not and did see someone else scoop it up and list it on airbnb so that stung a bit but good luck to them. I explored the area a bit and decided to not invest since it is a day trip destination from DFW and not really an overnight stay and all data pointed to a high vacancy ratio.

Hi All, I have identified a property that seems like would be a great STR in the lake Texoma, Pottsboro area but I am not too familiar with the area, having only visited a couple times from Dallas. Does anyone here have some experience that wouldn't mind sharing about the area and if it would make a good STR.

Hi All, we have a decent portfolio of Single Family Residentials in the DFW area and are now looking to both diversify and get a vacation home for us that we can frequent as well. We self-manage our LTRs but are open to letting a company handle the STR. I have a few properties shortlisted that we would want as our vacation home in the Lake Texoma, Cedar Creek Lake, and Galveston areas. The closer the better for a quick weekend getaway but has anyone successfully run STRs in these areas and would like to connect? I am looking to work with a local agent/company in these areas that can help both acquire and run the said property. If the actual numbers for the STR come even close to our LTR numbers, this is definitely something we are looking to grow into.

I've been looking to add a STR to my portfolio of SFRs in either the lake Texoma or Cedar creek lake area and hope to self manage. Would love to connect with others more experienced in those areas. Do I just need a cleaning company and a handyman essentially? How much premium are the lake front lots worth?
