@Jim Goebel  Thanks Jim. Great advice.

@Brooks Johnson These are direct workers. If I had a general contractor or like a professional construction company, they would charge 50% more.

Where do you guys find your workers, because the prices I just gave you are from people on Craigslist.

Hi,

I just bought a house to flip, and below are the estimates I got for labor only. I got multiple estimates and some were even higher. This was the lowest estimate I got. It's a  900 sqft house. I measured the walls and ceilings and they are approx 3500sqft.

Replace drywall -$5500

paint (3500sqft) -$2000

Replace 13 windows- $1500

Replace 6 doors - $900

Hardwood flooring (800sqft)- $2500

Install kitchen cabinet - $700

Replace trim - $800

There are other small things. These were the major repairs. Also if you know any good contractors in the st louis area please let me know. Thanks

@Jon Mccarthy What kind of cars do you drive. Did you get them new? 570 is alot for a car. You might want to try to get a 4k or 5k car. You can have a mechanic inspect the car for you and cars these days are built pretty good. If you get a mass produced car like a Toyota corolla or Honda civic or ford fusion it will be easy to get parts. Plus you pay less for auto insurance.

internet- 70 sounds a bit high, unless you're on super fast speeds. I pay $40 a month for 60Mbps

cell phone- This is also pretty high. T mobile has 4 lines for $120, but its only 10G of data.

@Bob B.  Most people don't like my idea. I know I will never win.

@Deanna O. America never completely let go of the feudal system. The king owned all the land and you rented it from him and you had to pay him at the end of the year. Land ownership is not fiction, you can own it. Its only fiction in America. Although having zero taxes is almost impossible in any society. It's just wrong for people to try to make you feel guilty for not wanting to pay "your fair share". So yes we are just serfs. If you feel any different then you are just trying to make the best of a bad situation.

@Nicole A. Thanks for sharing the information.

@Terry Miller

I never signed up for it that's the problem. You can't force me into a contract, that's all I'm saying. Its a really simple idea. Its more funny than you think, that printed money at one point was exchangeable for a certain amount of gold until the government decided not to honor its contract and it started printing money that it couldn't back by gold.

@Jason D.

I never said people should rent for free. I meant that theHide government making you pay property taxes and kicking you out if you don't, means you don't really own the land and effectively you are just renting it. Paying groceries is not extortion. The difference between me paying for groceries and me paying for taxes is that I willingly paid for groceries, I was not threatened. I paid taxes because I was threatened.

@Deanna O. The problem is that if we move and build something nice, no doubt thugs like your government will come and mess it up.

1. You're 100% right we have no right to our wages.Hence slavery

2. I own my land, I never signed a contract with the government. You can't just force me to a contract. Can you imagine if business could force other business into contracts.

3. Yes it does matter If I want a road. What your advocating for is tyranny by the majority.

@Terry Miller If taking something that doesn't belong to you isn't theft then what is theft. If you have no rights to your property then you're a slave. If you have to pay the government their rent every year or they will take you're land away then you don't own the land. If you're a farmer who has to give a portion of his crops then you're just a sharecropper. Your idea of society is really just slavery without the whips. Paving a dirt road that I didn't want is in fact immoral. A contractor can't come to my house and force me to replace my driveway or he will kill me, we would call that extortion.

@Deanna O. I never called the 911. The funny thing is the police stole from me "through taxes"

Obviously $400 is nothing. I just think its really shocking that a large number of people have so little in savings. Obviously its their fault for being so stupid, and it shows a lack of a long term planning for their future. I think its wrong to suggest that schooling will help them, I'm sure it will help a bit, but there is a saying that you can't help someone who doesn't want to help them-self. Some people are just stupid. I went to a not so great school and there were kids who were really dummies. Now that I think about it, I really think they should really classify it as a mental disorder. The teacher would give them C because they "tried" well in the real world there is no extra points for trying.

@Christopher B. I definitely want to travel the problem is I only get two weeks of vacation at work.

@Nicole A. I never heard of a fee, but I didn't pay anything.  I hope the insurance companies didn't write a law that you have to insurance or they will tax you.

@Terry Miller Brent is right Taxation is theft. My fair share is 0.

@Christopher B.

Why $1000 a month. That's too much. He or she is only four years old. What are they teaching her that's worth $1000, I'm sure its not nuclear physics. I'm joking lol. I understand where you come from though but I like to get the best value for every dollar I spend.

The electricity is no problem. Any electrician should be able to able to connect a generator to your panel and check the electricity. I'm not sure about plumbing, but I don't see why a plumber couldn't connect the water line back. You should always factor in some expense for repair, no house is going to last forever. If you don't want the deal you're inspector can find many things wrong with the house and let you back out of the deal, like water in ceiling, roof, window etc.
