Good evening investors!

I am a newer investor currently only own 1 SFH and working to try and secure my next deal entirely by myself.

I recently connected with some other investors through some Facebook groups that are local in the area ( Hampton Roads, VA) and i was recommended to join the M1 Mastermind group and just got off of a ZOOM call recently with one of the head guys for our area. The same person i was on the call with also happened to be the vice president of TRIG which is probably considered to be the most established Property Investor's Association in my area with a fairly large membership of local investors.

He explained everything about M1 Mastermind and Rock Thomas and he also mentioned that it would be a $10,000 fee to join the mastermind. Despite his pretty great reputation as the VP of our local investor group i still feel pretty suspicious as I've never joined a paid mastermind like this especially not one that costs so much.

Was looking to get more information from the experienced investors here in Bigger Pockets and would like to know if anyone has joined this group before and just looking for some general feedback for an inexperienced investor that desperately needs a mentor and more investors in my circle.

Looking for more like minded rental property investors in Hampton Roads.

Was wondering if there are any groups or meet ups that happen frequently? Bought a townhouse in Virginia Beach last year and I’m getting ready to rent it out and would like to pick some minds of local investors.

Might be asking a lot but I’m also looking for a mentor if that’s possible to find on here. I have a couple officers I work with and they’re extremely helpful but they are much farther along then me and don’t seem to have the time of day.
