Did either of you purchase a security system you would recommend?

@Joseph Hammel did you purchase a security system?  If so, are you happy with it?

@Loren Green sounds like they haven't changed their ways.  I can't believe they still don't have testimonials.

I just took a call with them.  They are new and can't provide verification of student success.  The only success they can speak to is how much $$ their company is making.  Additionally, when I asked some probing questions the guy I was speaking with got defensive (red flag).  He then asked how I would be paying the $9K.  I would stay away.

Hello Everyone,

I have tried this before and had some success. I have moved from San Francisco to Marin County and would love to meet likeminded folks in the area. If you live in Marin County, CA and would like to get together to discuss your real estate goals, challenges and brainstorm on our strategies I would love to chat. Ideally, we could get a couple of folks in the area together to meet on a regular basis. Is anyone interested? This could turn into a mastermind/accountability group.

Looking forward to hearing from other Marin County residents.

Kyle

Thanks @Dylan Vargas for the reply. Do you think an ADU would take longer because of the permitting process?

Hello BP’ers,

My wife and I have decided to keep our fixer upper in Marin CA. The town we are moving to allows for ADU units and our property is a good size. Our thought is, we would be able to build an ADU quicker than remodeling the house and this would allow us to live on the property while the main unit is being remodeled. This will also allow us to add an additional 1,000 square feet as the town has limits to the number of square footage added to a property (20%) based on total square footage of the property (doesn't include an ADU). My questions are around the permitting process and the actual build. We have been looking into modular ADU's where the construction is less than a new build. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. I have spoken with a couple contractors and they have given me this idea. Is this crazy? I really haven't done any construction like this before.

Thanks BP!

Great advice...thanks so much for the responses.  As of recently the sale has been tied up as one of the owners is trying to protest it through the courts.  This will most likely extend out close date.

@Isaac Moore@Alex T.  ll have to try facebook group out.  I would have never thought about that!

@Karen Rittenhouse  Good advice on the meetups...I need to attend some more of those.  I will have to check out homevestors of America.  I haven't heard of them.

@Mark Sewell You could be right...I have already heard from a handful of interested folks that live in Marin right here on

@Kevin Klyse I sent you a message.
