Eamonn,

It would be a power washing bussiness. I would put graphics on the windows of the suv which is used for work and towing the boat.

I have not been on ESPN but would be seen on bassmaster.com, ive been on a radio show, lots of social media and locally in the area at tournaments

I believe I have the basics to what i need to do for taxes with my rental property: save all reciepts and give to a pro!

Now here is my next question:

I am looking to start a little bussiness. I am also a bass fisherman. Can I have the business sponsor myself by advertising on the boat and my jersey? Can i have the bussiness pay myself or pay for gear?

Thank you!

I took a holding deposit to hold a property for a potential tennant. A few days later they said they no longer want the property and that they wanted the holding deposit back.

Okay great info! right now i am "repairing" the condo. Can i claim these expenses if it is not a rental property yet?

If i do my own work can i pay myself and claim that labor?

Can this just be a notebook with dated notes and a folder of reciepts?

I currently have a condo in connecticut that i will be renting out in august. I am moving to a single family in texas. I am looking for advice on taxes from the basics.

With this property going up for rent what are tax write off  examples?

When is it worth keeping track of all my possible write offs when the standard deduction is $20k?

Is my rental income taxed?

Carl Hebert That would be great. We have a lake house in monmouth and i love the area but A/L scares me since i wonder if its a good place to buy. Im i get stationed in boothbay harbor i would consider a duplex there or a lakehouse to rent when i leave. A duplex would be smarter financially. Can you tell me about the market in A/L?

@katie I am in the military and transfer this summer, upon reception of orders to units in the boston to boothbay harbor area $250k would best fit my pay. I will be living in one side and renting out the other. then after four years i move and rent the whole thing
