My Dad and I both want to get into real estate to start generating passive income. My Dad has around 100k to play around with and I have saved up around 20k.

I have never purchased a home and I need a place to live, so we thought that we might team up and purchase a multi-unit complex of some sort and utilize the owner occupancy and FHA loan for a low down payment.

Is there a maximum size / units that an FHA or owner occupancy applies to?

We are both new to this and would like any advice or help. Thanks.

Thanks for the links and especially the @ tag tip.. I don't think I would have figured that out on my own.

 One of my financial advisers for my company got me interested. He has been purchasing rental property himself and has been helping me along the way. 

I have been running my own business for the past 3 years (Business has been operating for 35 years). We are a commercial storefront / curtain wall, brake metal, fabrication facility. I also own a drafting and engineering business. It was passed on from my family, I have worked there my entire life and love what I do. 

Hello, my name is Kyle. I am 31 years old, born and raised in Colorado. I am looking to get started with some rental properties and was lucky enough to find this site. I am looking to invest outside of Colorado as I am sure most of you know how crazy Denver is right now. I hope to use this forum more and more as questions and curiosities develop. 

I own and work at my own businesses (not related to real estate) which take up a majority of my time. I honestly just find real estate investing interesting and would like to learn more.
