Everyone has different investing parameters that go far beyond the single factor of geographic location, so it is impossible to say if you would be making a mistake based on that one thing.  Depending on what you are possibly concerned about, you can check out places like Zillow to get past sales prices, crime reporting sites to find that out, or somewhere like city-data to get other demographic information.

We should definitely try to do this again sooner rather than later.  The planning/system side of me wants to have organized goals for the time, but I suppose it's nice to get together and chat.  Have a great time and stay in touch, all!
