Mark Ainley Hey Mark, we're very flexible on locations. We are located downtown, and we either drive or take public transit to the suburbs (we try to stick to transit as much as possible for the environment). Feel free to shoot me a message on here if you'd like to set something up! Thanks

Hello everyone!

My colleague and I are licensed FAA commercial drone operators looking to establish a foothold in the real-estate marketplace and add it to our business portfolio. We would like to shoot a few properties for free to include the photos/videos in our portfolio for marketing. If you are in the Chicago area and are interested in receiving free high-definition and professional aerial images/videos of your property(s) please reach out!

Incorporating cutting-edge aerial imagery to your marketing can set you apart from the competition and really grab consumer interest. We are only going to offer free services to the first few properties who reach out, so let me know if you're interested ASAP! Thanks!

I'm new to REI and very excited to get started. I've done lots of research and feel ready to take the next step. I plan on pursuing a buy and hold strategy with apartments in downtown Chicago. Since I'm so new to this, I'm looking for a good reliable real estate agent in the area who can help me find and close a deal on my first investment! Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Jon,

I'm in the same boat with the same mindset as you. My plan is to also start with condos/apartments in the downtown Chicago area and refinance to acquire more assets. From what I've learned, its a great way to get your foot in the door with REI and can be much easier to begin with. Unfortunately, HOAs and their associated fees are unavoidable here in Chicago. I'd love to stay in touch and share experiences as we both go for this strategy.

Goodluck!

Hi Meghan,

I just moved to the downtown Chicago area and have been doing a ton of research in buying and holding apartments in the downtown area. I'm eager to learn and start investing. I would love to get some insight on your experiences starting out in Chicago!  Shoot me a message if you feel like sharing some of your experience!

Thanks!

Hi all,

I just moved to the downtown Chicago area from Florida and I'm very excited to start a new journey here! Over the years I've done lots of research and realize the great potential in real estate investing, so I'm eager to get started. Being relatively young, I've never had the capital to really get started; however, I've saved some capital to start, I'm in a great city, and I have a great job, so I believe I'm ready to finally take the plunge! I am currently a civil engineer, specializing in airport design on some of the busiest airports in the country.

My goal in real-estate investing is to pursue the buy and hold strategy, particularly with downtown apartments at first (demand for apartment renting in Chicago has been growing in the upper 500,000s by 1-2% annually since 2010). Over time I want to build a diversified portfolio of assets to generate a steady flow of part-time passive income and maybe even achieve financial independence!

I have lots to learn and I hope to meet a great network of people on this site and in my local community!
