We visited the property last summer and cleared it out (it was full of junk). We've been waiting for the deed to go through before we put any money into it (it's still in probate). But the roof needs to be fixed sooner than later.

It appraised at 44k but the county had it listed as a 2 bedroom not a 3 bedroom. At this point, we are set in keeping it. Given that we paid nothing for it we are willing to invest in fixing it up. Plus the sentimental value of it being in my husband's family for 70 years. Looking more for advice and contacts in the area to help us manage the property long distance.

Hello! My husband recently inherited a house in Wichita Falls, TX. The house has been in the family for years, a 1000 sq ft ranch, 3 bed, 1 bath. We live in Oregon. The property has been neglected for years, has plumbing, roof, and possibly electrical issues. My husband is a contractor in Oregon, but due to the distance will not likely be able to do much of the work himself. Our plan is to fix the place up and then rent it out. We plan to hire a property manager to manage it. Looking for property managers in the area, as well as any recommendations that you may have for contractors. Thank you!
