Post: NJ Shore Area - Monmouth & Ocean County

Hi all,

Just saying hi.

I'm always here for advice on NJ shore properties or any deals you may be considering in Monmouth and Ocean county.

I know none of us like to work with realtors -- who the hell does. I didn't get into this business to be a salesperson. I had a REALLY good job before and transitioned out of it because I was having so much fun doing this instead. My whole game plan was to get my license and just use it to find my own buy and hold properties - that's what I'm into. It ended up being a completely spur of the moment career change for me in the past couple of years.

My goal right now is to be a resource for other people looking to make real estate investment decisions. The resources available on this site are AMAZING, and I imply them when I'm working with all of my clients (whether they are considering themselves as investors or not). I'm on here all the time viewing the webinars, reading the forums, and just generally lurking around and absorbing as much information as I possibly can.

I'm easy to reach, I'm easy to talk to, and I'll make things fun. Honestly, I love this stuff.

Message me if I can help you in any way.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at properties for sale in Monmouth County and I found one that I'm very serious about. The thing is, it's coming up on a flood zone map in an AE zone.

Figures...

Aside from doing my research, and possibly getting a survey done if the numbers work...I'm wondering if anyone with some experience can give me some pointers on properties like this. I'm going to check the forums because I'm sure my answer is there, but I'm looking for people who specifically buy these properties in Jersey and can maybe refer me to some places nearby that can help me out.

Thanks for your help, and happy fathers day too :)

Seems like the only thing that does the trick for me is to use a very soapy washcloth in the shower while being as gentle as possible to my skin.

No rubbing! Stay in one direction!

I did insulation for work, full time, when i was younger for a lot longer than I would have liked to....and there really is no magic cure. The stuff is just gross to be around. Baby powdering your exposed skin (use a lot) and covering up with long sleeves are totally worth it on the prevention side.

I'm not for or against the hot/cold water idea because I know it works for some people but I personally didn't notice any results, and I had to endure the Polar Bear Plunge in the shower after working all day while covered with insulation on top of it. Miserable.

I met someone who used to pretend to be horribly allergic so someone else would have to do it. Hahaha - I wish I could just do that sometimes.

OOP! I just saw that you wrote no flood zones. I'm with you on avoiding that headache. Let me see what I can find. I'll send you a PM in a little bit.

Hey, I can send you a MLS search by e-mail for Monmouth county if you want? I'm actually on there right now looking around for my own things :)

If so, let me know some areas/price you would be interested in. I'm seeing tons of really cheap distressed homes in Keansburg/Union Beach area right now - a lot of them are pretty close to the water though. Depends how you'd want to proceed with something like that, lifting, etc. Can weed them out though if that's not what you want.

I can set the results up to send to you automatically (different options), or just one for what's listed right now. Whichever you prefer.

Happy hunting!
