Hello BP. I've been itching to get started in Real Estate investing. I've taken all these steps to join the local meetup group, attend seminars, webinars and all the miscellaneous meetings involved in Real Estate. I also have taken and passed the classes to acquire my Real Estate License, but have not completed my RE exam to receive it.

You're probably wondering why I have gone as far as i've gone without taking action or completing what i've started. So let me explain my situation...

I am 24 years old, and originally from Sacramento, but I was drafted last year by the Baltimore Orioles and sent to Florida, then Baltimore to play baseball. I spend 6-7 months away from my hometown, then the other 5-6 months back in Sacramento serving at a restaurant to make extra money. As a Minor Leaguer, my/our wages are nowhere near enough to put away in savings as I must feed myself at fast food restaurants (the beauty of a minor league baseball player). My passion outside of baseball, for 3 to 4 years, has been real estate and I spend my spare time roaming the MLS, calling/emailing REI veterans, and talking to my grandfather about buy and holds. I've currently saved a decent amount of money (for my age and financial situation) at around 4k, to get a jump start on REI.

I still have a lot to learn but I have an amazing mentor (grandfather) that has several rentals and has done 100's of flips.

I guess my questions are

1- What would you guys recommend I start with?

2- With my situation, would it be too risky to purchase a rental property and leave for spring training and season, without being in the same state to keep track of my tenants?

3- With my financial situation, should I save more to fund a project?

4- What kind of recommendations do you all have regarding my current situation!? I'd love to meet people and learn more (as i'm young-ish, and have a lot to learn).

Thanks so much! And i'm excited to be a part of this community to learn more and network with others.
