I'm a newbie so this is probably a stupid question but do all REIA's charge a fee?

My husband and I are getting started by buying a duplex, living in 1 half and renting the other.

I'm throwing myself full force into the real estate investment world. I do not know anything pertaining to real estate..yet, but I've been listening to the podcasts and reading the books. Hopefully I will soon be able to start my first adventure!
