The first step to attracting the right agents is knowing what the right agent is for your company. Are you looking for seasoned agents only? New agents? etc. There is no one size fits all, for both the agents and the company.

A good starting strategy is to figure out the ideal agent that you want working in your company then figure out what they are missing in their business and offer your company as a way of solving that problem in their business.

Just like any other sales/business, attracting agents to a real estate brokerage starts with solving a problem!

When approaching sellers as someone who can offer both your services as an agent and an investor who can purchase their property upfront it's always better to present yourself as an agent first rather than an investor.

This way it won't mislead any sellers who are looking for a cash offer when you run the numbers on the property and decide that it's not a deal for you so you decide to go back and offer to list their house on the MLS.

Best way to present yourself is as a real estate expert who can offer a homeowner multiple solutions for selling their property. That way you can present the options and let them choose.

Letting them know up front that you are a seasoned expert helps too!

@Zachariah Wilhelm There are some brokerages in the marketplace that offers health insurance plans with partner companies similar to some corporate employer benefits. I've heard from some friends that they were able to save a lot of money through those plans as opposed to paying out of pocket or choosing a plan from NAR marketplace.

@Tom Choi

Joining a wholesaling company would mean getting to work with other investors which might be a good thing. But it does limit a lot of your potential because it is so niche and you might not be able to get access to the same resources that you will with an actual brokerage.

@Jt Marting

That’s awesome! Glad to see that you’re wanting to get in the game so early! Taking a gap year before college and getting licensed is exactly what I did to learn about RE and investing. Even with the restrictions of covid I was able to learn a lot working with experienced investors and real estate professionals. The networking opportunity is great also!

@Kyle O'Donnell

Usually larger franchise brokerages will charge all agents the same fees and splits while giving agents access to the same tools trainings and resources. That can be both a positive or a negative depending on the opportunity cost of the monthly fee and % of commission they take on every sale vs the opportunity and tools that are given to you.

On the other hand smaller local shops can be more flexible when it comes to the terms of full time sales agents vs part time agents. They might be more willing to charge less each month but give you access to less training or resources depending on the shop.

@Luca Giani

Hey Luca!

KVCore is a great lead generation platform but it is not like Opcity. KVCore is a platform and system that you can use to create landing pages, squeeze pages, marketing pieces, campaigns, have your own customizable website etc.

Whereas Opcity will give you leads and charges a referral fee. KVCore is a platform that you can use to generate your own leads however you wish. It also comes with one of the best CRM platforms.

If you want to spend some money to buy leads at eXp, you can do so through the Making it Rain program. That program works similarly to Zillow Premier where you pay for eXp to run Facebook and Google ads for you to follow up with and convert. Although I haven’t used that program myself I’ve heard from other agents in the company that it yields better results than Zillow.

@Napoleon T.

Calling/Marketing to renters is a great way to generate buyer leads and is pretty popular for agents.

You can usually buy these lists from different data and list companies and can even customize them if you wanted to target a specific demographic.
