That is kind of the way I am leaning, the more that I think about it. But no, there is not a garage either. I just think the house will look cleaner without the carport and will free up money for another half bath in the basement which is desperately needed. Thanks for the response.

So I am going to place and offer on a house that I intend on flipping, and I have been going back and forth on this carport. I know the carport adds some value, but the thing is in pretty bad condition and will need a decent amount of time and money to make right, and attractive. I am just wondering what others think as far as if it would be worth spending the money to fix it, and possibly put a concrete pad down or just remove it all together and save the money for other parts of the house. Thanks for the opinions ahead of time.

such great reasons Julia! Certainly there is more to life than money, but it sure makes a lot easier not having to worry about it!

it really is a powerful feeling knowng that you have the keys to success. I quit my job a few months ago to pursue real estate and after working side jobs and having analysis paralysis, i started wondeting if I was just chasing a dream. I really had to do some soul searching and am more motivated than ever! I want financial freedom and want to enjoy what I do. I am more determind than ever. It is a great feeling! Go O's!

Peter, I totally feel you. That's one of the wonderful things about real estate. Its all on us and if we want it bad enough. The sky is the limit when you're dedicated to making this a living. What are your long term goals to sustain your dreams? Are you a rehabber or buy and hold?

it is a great plan and is certainly doable, but its going to take a lot of units and a lot of leveraging at $100 a door with 2-4 units as you know. And like Sharad mentioned, it is going to be slow using a HELOC. Is their anything you can do with your retirement to expedite this?
