My name is Kevin and to tell a long story short I just got out of the army. During my time in the Military I moved around a lot and already own one SFR in Augusta Ga. and Georgia is where my wife would like to end up back at in the end. We just bought our second house here in Woodbridge Va. I work in DC as an operating engineer and have been interested in RE for as long as I have understood the concept (I tried to by a duplex at 19 and simply couldn't get the financing). my wife on the other hand is very skeptical about anything other than a 9-5, and i had to convince her that keeping our house in Ga when we moved was the best idea, instead of selling something that was only 2 years old. I am looking to buy and hold another property in one of these 2 markets (GA,VA) within a year at the latest if i can get the wife's blessing.
Bigger pockets has proved to be a wealth of knowledge, and of people that seem willing to help. I am here to learn anything i can with a niche of Buy and Hold. Some people have 401k's, I'm more comfortable with equity and steady income.
for anybody that doesn't know Augusta Ga is exploding right now. there is already a military base there and they are building a waterpark near by.
