Post: Getting Sponsored - Part Time?

Hello Everyone!

I'm working on getting licensed as a broker; I have about a month left on the course and was wondering what firms sponsor brokers who are starting part time. I want to get sponsored, but I have another sales job that generates income that I'd like to keep as I learn how to sell and invest in real estate. What brokerage firms should I be looking at in the Chicagoland area? I know there are many that only hire full time/experience, and others who you can just pay for the sponsorship to maintain your license.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions and help!

Hello everyone! I came across this post as I'm about to go through the process of getting my license as well. The difference is that I'm not a Lawyer, so I will have to go through the coursework. I will also be doing this part time as I currently hold another sales job. My Business Partner and I are getting into Real Estate Investing and I would like to get licensed for the access being a Broker can provide in terms of deals/data and part of what we'll be doing is Wholesaling (which I keep reading there is a fine line on wholesaling being legal) and I'd like to make sure we don't get slapped with any fines. Also, I'm sure that having the license automatically ups credibility. Am I right that this would be the best avenue to go? What should I expect in terms of the amount of class/study time it will take. If I start tomorrow for instance, how soon would it be before I can take the exam and get licensed if we're being conservative on time?

Thanks!

Welcome Lonnie! I'm just getting started in Chicago as well! My Business Partner and I are developing a Wholesaling Business, lets connect, could be a great opportunity to learn together!

I'm just getting into Real Estate Investing with my business partner and this was really inspiring to read, thank you @Gino Barbaro congratulations on your success! Thanks again for sharing

@Dave Meyer thanks! Just signed up this week, started posting a few days ago and have already made some great connections

I appreciate that @Jack Butala I'm already really impressed with the material, love the podcasts/books, and the outreach so far. I'm excited to be here. Thanks for the message!

Hi Miland,

Thank you for reaching out! We're currently building out our dataset and understanding for pricing in different neighborhoods, as well as building out our dataset for labor and material costs. We want to make sure that we start off on the right foot and don't waste other investors time with the wrong deals.

Do you have any advice based on the Wholesalers you've worked with in the past? What you suggest we do vs. what we shouldn't? Where you find the most benefit in partnering with good Wholesalers, what you would define as a productive partnership?

My apologies for peppering you with questions, we just want to make sure we do this right and provide value to those we network with right off the bat. We'd love to start bringing you properties, but want to make sure we're not wasting your time, so any insight would be appreciated.

I really appreciate the outreach!

Kevin

I appreciate it Michael!
