@Luke Carl...got it makes sense. Vacation markets like Destin work better as opposed to more metro markets.

Do you feel vacation areas like Destin have become over populated with STR in recent years? Have you noticed a decrease in occupancy rates?

@Luke Carl....So what areas would you target? I would assume most areas you invest in STR, your going to have neighbors that live there full time wouldn't you?

Hello, new investor here and I just had a question for anyone doing STR. Are you okay with purchasing a STR property that backs up to a busy road or is nearby a major highway. I know you obviously may not want to flip a property that backs up to a major road. But for short term rentals, is it going to be much of a drawback?

I only ask because I am in a city about 20 minutes outside of Phoenix. I have noticed that some of these houses that back up to busy roads, tend to stay on the market longer, and I may be able to purchase at a better price.

I was just curious of some people's thoughts on this, and if they have experience buying a STR near a busy road.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew any mentors or professionals with experience in Northwest Indiana on Flipping houses. I've been working in real estate development for a couple years, but my boss only developes subdivisions, never does flipping.

Is there anyone in NWI that someone knows that i could reach out to for some advice or knowledge?I won't bother you too much, I just want to learn!

Thanks,

Kevin

@Larry Fried I appreciate the welcome Larry. I defintely am looking for something that needs some repairs. I really have my sights set on multifamily in C&B type neighborhoods. How long have you been investing in NWI?

@Nicholas Smith Congratulations, sounds exciting! I'm glad to hear that. I currently work as a building consultant. I basically handle new home sales for new construction, and do option pricing, draw floor plans, and coordinate with contractors. Its been a great job as far as learning experience goes and getting my feet wet in the real estate industry.
