Hey Norman,

I am from the Grand Haven-Spring Lake area and my aunt and uncle owned a bnb, minus the air, a few years back right in the heart of Grand Haven. It was a seven bedroom and they had occupants throughout the fall and winter, mostly with sales people/business folks traveling through during that time and staying in the area for 4-5 days at a time. Winter occupancy slowed down a bit for them but not much, they raised their prices in the summer when they had an influx of occupants to make up for that lost winter cash flow (which you can do too with AirBnB pretty easily). I go back and visit a handful of times each year and that area is definitely growing into a popular tourist destination year round. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hey Jessyca! I am a resident of Camillus, currently in Mass. for work, and I'm not positive about finding a renter that would mind your situation of house hacking (shared kitchen), but I do know that house hacking is a thing in the area. Camillus does have a big community college nearby and Syracuse university a bit further but still folks renting in Camillus making the commute (not sure who you may be targeting but a shared kitchen may sway rent lower and attract college students which is not always a bad thing if they know the landlord is below)...watch property taxes which can be high in areas of Camillus, hope this helps and good luck!
