If you bid on a HOA foreclosure, are you now responsible for the first mortgage? What happens?

If you bid on a HOA foreclosure and it had a mortgage, are you now responsible for the first mortgage? Can you rent it out until the first mortgage foreclosure? I’m trying to think of more ways to get money. Any ideas? Hey
