@Mindy Jensen They are recent. The owner didn’t look at the survey carefully before placing the house (they already owned the land) and just recently got it surveyed and realized it wasn’t fully on their property. Now we want to buy it but want this issue resolved first. Is this something I should expect the seller to do? Does something like this usually effect getting a loan or will my lender want this resolved upfront as well? Thanks for your insight!

My husband and I are new to real estate investing. We are looking to purchase a house that neighbors ours and rent it out. We are not using a realtor because we are purchasing from family and therefore the property isn’t even listed. However, the survey papers show that a corner of the house and the drain field are actually on another neighbors property! What are the best options to solve this issue?? We want this taken care of before we purchase.
