@Eric P.

Thanks for your feedback. It is appreciated!

We do have one rental property out of state right now - a duplex. But it isn't an Airbnb.

It makes me wonder why they are selling the airbnb so quickly after renovating it and getting it rented.

@Tom Campone

Another thing I might recommend is adding in some Estimated Repair Costs. You may need some new paint, carpets, landscaping, cleaning, or just general maintenance. Especially if the property is currently vacant, you'll want to make sure it is rent ready and it could cost a couple thousand depending on the property.

Hi everyone,

I am considering the purchase of an Airbnb property. The seller is offering the property fully furnished and with the Airbnb business. It has only been operated as an Airbnb since December.

I just wanted to see if there are others out there who have purchased Airbnbs and continued to run them as an Airbnb business. How does that work? Would you recommend it?

Also, another layer to this - I haven't run an Airbnb business before - and the property is also out of state.

I was also considering using it for traveling nurses or something along those lines.

@Daniel Cullen

Thanks so much for your insight Daniel. I really appreciate sort of an outsiders view of the company after working alongside them for a while.

The Associate Agent position is different than being a full-time agent for Redfin. I think in the Agent position you would expect to work more hours. However, in the Associate Agent position, you are more of a contract worker for Redfin, so you do actually set your own hours and regions where you can work. And you don't close deals, you basically just do the showings for the clients. So there isn't a lot of followup work for you as an Associate Agent.

I'll try it out for a while to see how it goes!

Does anyone know if there is a way to filter out properties in flood zones on ListSource?

Hi @Leah Stuever

Yes as an Associate Agent you would hang your license with them.

Hey @Account Closed

Good question. I personally would still recommend going to college. I gained a lot of really good skills that I probably wouldn't have otherwise. I made so many great connections through my school.  Not to mention the friends I made and meeting my husband! But I still go to different networking events for alumni and I'm still in contact with some of my favorite professors.

I found it very beneficial! But I also know some people who have been successful without going.

@Michelle Bright

That is pretty much our plan for the money I make from Redfin! We're saving for our next investment property.

Thanks again for your encouragement!

Hey @Michelle Bright

I really appreciate your feedback! My story is similar to yours - in that I started out in property management and did that for almost 4 years. I learned that I don't like dealing with tenants haha! But I love real estate and I loved being around the real estate community.

I'm really excited to hear your positive feedback about the position. I did end up taking it and I have gone through the online training, I just have the in-person orientation left and then I can really get started!
