Hi Everyone!

I am wanting to find an additional job in the real estate sector in addition to my W-2 banking position in the Charlotte area. I want to explore jobs/positions I could do part-time. Any thoughts or ideas?

Happy to connect with people located in North Carolina (CLT preferred). Happy Monday!

Quote from @Andrew Garcia:

Hi @Katalina Mendoza, are you looking to buy a house hack opportunity or are you looking to rent? It sounds like you are looking to rent but just want to be sure before I can provide any feedback.

 Hi Andrew, I am actually looking to rent a room and thought why not rent a room in someone's house hack!

 @Brody Martinez

No worries Brody. I posted a forum as well and I need to have better notifications on them too. Such interesting insight to hear from you. I have seen many California residents purchase out-of-state, many of their first investments, which I find scary but I feel doable (of course considering finding a good team). I have thought of house hacking, but as you mentioned, California is a very expensive market.

I am still trying to build a foundation for financial literacy and real estate investing. I would love to connect and chat sometime if you are open to it.

Best,

Katalina Mendoza

@Brody Martinez

Hi Brody! It is nice to finally see another Bay Area person in the BP forums. I feel there are not many of us out there!

I am also a newbie here in San Francisco, but I am just learning currently. Though I know you are looking for someone with more experience, which is totally understandable since you are looking to invest soon! Congratulations!

I never really looked in the Livermore/Castro Valley/Concord areas, how is the market in those areas? I would love to connect if you are interested.

Thank you for your time.

@Anthony Murphy

Hi Anthony! Thank you for your advice. A lot of people have recommended many of the books BP books, but also other investing and motivational business books to help build my education in real estate.

I really feel that as a newbie I am just like so excited, but overwhelmed to try to learn everything I can about real estate investing. I always remember my goal to keep me trucking.

Please keep in touch as I see you from the Los Angeles area which is sort of close to me! Do you have investments in LA? If so, how have they gone for you?

@Jonathan Greene I never really saw real estate investing and getting a license as separate, but that work together. I will definitely continue to listen to BP podcasts and find others in similar positions to see what we can do as a team, which could be interesting.

I feel getting my license will help me build a foundation, but the experience will do the rest of the major teaching.

I would love to stay connected and I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

@Dennis Cosgrave

I completely agree that I feel I just need to take action. I actually listen to the BP Rookie Podcast which has been really fun to listen in on people's experience on how they started. I feel until I continue to educate myself on investing in real estate, I will know better what I can do given my circumstances.

Do you have any advice when trying to find real estate investors in the area? Or any criteria important when going into a deal that the partner should have?

I also did not know you can do equity interest instead of commission. Really great tip.

Thank you for responding and taking the time to chat.
