For those that own properties free and clear, or even those that are financing, do you factor property taxes into your formulas? I hear a lot about the potential rents and the yearly returns, but I don’t hear many people talking about how they deal with property taxes. Thank you for your time!

@Tandi H. I would not give it back. Hopefully the terms of the lease were outlined clearly, providing you protection. If so, clearly take pictures of the damage, estimates for repairs, and have copies of your attempts to reclaim your drawers/having them properly clean it. After that, I believe you should have enough ground to stand on to not return their deposit. Don’t let where they work scare you. If anything, use their firm!

@Philip Abbey I think you should pay off debt first. To free up even more money to go towards investing. But I do understand the logic behind investing in RE now to have your properties pay off your debt.
