@Jonathan Klemm

Hello Jonathan, there's more successful people I know personally that live in Chicago that I wanted to connect with more often. Also, investing in the Northside or northwest side of Chicago is something I've been thinking about often. And just like you said, there are many opportunities to come across.

I would like to stay in contact as well!

@Quentin McNew

Hi Quentin, thank you for your input. I've been actually looking up those groups that you and Scott have mentioned. You have provided me with some extra clarification on getting my license or not with your own personal experience and I appreciate that from you. I'm still weighing whether I should get it in terms of my plans, but I know that it definitely wouldn't hurt and the pros will more than likely possibly align with what I'm looking for.

I actually had met up with an agent today and she had given me advice on that as well. I don't think it's something now that I'd worry or stress too much about. Also, thanks for the quote, I will keep that in mind especially.

@Scott Dixon

Thanks for the added guidance Scott. You seem to have a lot of insight and enlightenment. I would like to stay connected with you since you're in the Champaign area even though I'm planning on moving soon.

@Paul De Luca

Hi Paul and thank you for your input. I’m more-so invested into the Real Estate Investor profession and dealing with rental properties. However, I have realized that there are great pros and a few cons to getting your Real Estate License, but I can’t deny the benefits are definitely enticing. I was trying to get a few peoples experiences with having their license before I made the decision to go for mines. I’ve always wanted it, but deciding if I should when I’m planning on being an investor has been conflicting. You helped add some more clarity to this situation. Thanks!

@Sarah Giffin

Hello Sarah, I’m new to Real Estate Investing as well and just trying to grow my knowledge and expanding my network as well. I came across your post and I hope that you’re able to find that team that you need and come across the strategy and/or strategies that you initiate in order to create success. I can’t offer too much value at the moment. (I will be able to soon) However, I can say that reading books, podcasts, videos, and blogs are extremely important and they’re growing my knowledge pretty quickly. Currently reading The Book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner. It’s a great read if you haven’t and it further dives into the strategies you’ve mentioned.

Looking to expand my knowledge by connecting and interacting with people. Are there any clubs, groups, meetups on social media or actual physical places anywhere in the Champaign-Urbana area. I’m moving to Chicago in the next couple of months so any input on associating there would be appreciated as well. Looking to build engaging conversations and value through these forums so I’m open to anyone wanting to connect as well from any area.

@Scott Dixon

Thanks for the welcome. I’m extremely focused on Rental Property investing at the moment, but not having started yet, I am open-minded to investing into other strategies. I’m developing my knowledge so I can have the wherewithal to succeed in either one of the strategies. Still determining if I should get my Real Estate license or not. Learning more towards the former but any tips on that? Also, do you know of anywhere to further network in Champaign like clubs or people?

Hello,

Stopping by to introduce myself. I’m Justice Carter. I currently live in Urbana, but will be residing in Chicago come later this year. I am 20 years old just starting out with real estate and am extremely focused on building a future within this field among other things. I will as I continue to gain knowledge and adhere to the responsibilities of an investor/agent add value to other people and provide y’all with the essential tools you all need as you go through this journey and know that you’ll be able to provide the same for me as well.
