Oh I see, thanks @Mark F. I understand a bit better now, so it's not like the loan officer has a bunch of power to make something happen in the first place

Hey @Travis Sperr I'm actually looking to invest in my first rental property this fall after spending this year building my credit, however back in March I was told that my FICO still was not high enough to be approved.

My top 5 books that I learned so much from and that  continue to affect how I see my financial state are The Richest Man in Babylon, Creating Wealth, Millionaire Next Door, Rich Dad Poor Dad, and Think and Grow Rich.

I know there are plenty of amazing books out there but I love the ones that I mentioned so much!

@Kurt Milliron perhaps you could try a credit union if you haven't already, they seem much more willing to do business and build relationships than other banks that I've encountered, though I know everyone's experience my be different.

Leonard Liang I purchase all of my books from Amazon, they're really cheap and generally arrive within 3 days. I also buy a lot books using my iBooks app, it's great to have books on my phone to be able to keep notes and highlight. Books on your phone is also great in a time pinch.
