Thank you, Elliot and Chris! We ended up going with NBKC in Kansas. Chris, we didn't want to use BofA, Chase, etc because they are huge and woke. We use BofA for personal stuff and the service is terrible. Chase too.

Elliot, thank you for the rec, but we had already found NBKC.

We just purchased our first investment rental out of state in Texas. We have an LLC in Wyoming, which owns the LLC in Texas that owns the rental property. We have banking set up for the Wyoming LLC, but have been turned down by several online banks for the LLC in Texas. Any recommendations? We have excellent credit. We have tried Kabbage, Novo Bank, and Etrade.

Hi BP community!

We just   bought a sfh, and the title says .......W 16th Street, but the survey says "16th St. W". The survey company says they can't change because, quote:

“IN LBX & STREET APPRAISAL DISTRICT CITES IT AS "W. 16TH STREET"

(PLAT - SIXTEENTH STREET)”

Because of that they are not able to change the address on the survey.

So I asked the title co to change it on their end. They came back with this reply:

The title work shows the correct LEGAL information (attached). All of the LEGAL information matches.

Title matches survey (attached) which matches central appraisal district. I have attached a copy of the (not yet signed) Warranty Deed that will be filed of public record. The legal and the address are correct. Because all of the LEGAL information is correct and because we insure on the LEGAL, nothing needs to be changed.

Should we worry about this discrepancy?

Thank you, Tchaka Owen. That is what we concluded after talking with the title co some more.

Thank you all. Alicia, how do I tag?

Thank all of you too. I've been working on it today, and I guess you're right about checking each city! Lots of work!

Hi,

I've tried searching past discussions in the forums for this info, but am not seeing anything current. I'm trying to puchase a sfh in the Dallas-Ft. Worth general area and would like the option to convert it to a str in a year or 2.  I read that str's have been banned in Ft. Worth, Arlington except in restricted areas. How can I find out where they are allowed in each city/state, not only in Texas, but in other states as well? I also tried searching the city of Ft. Worth website for example and am coming up empty.

Thank you, Basit. That's quite helpful!

Thank you Jon, Scott, Nathan and Bjorn. We'll go with your collective wisdom. I appreciate your time.

Pax, Julie

We live in WA (no income tax so far), but are looking at an investment property in OKC. Does it matter which place our tax accountant is in?
