Not sure exact city yet, but Monroe County, PA.  

Anyone have short term rentals in Pennsylvania?  Do you need to have a Hotel Room Excise Tax Certificate for your property?  If you do, do you need to get it before you start renting out the property?  This would not be my primary residence.  It would be a stand alone rental...just for the purpose of renting to the public.  Thanks.

@Sean Canada. I just started reading “Every Airbnb Host’s Tax Guide by Nolo. 4th edition. New for 2021. Good so far....important to know so you can take advantage of all possible deductions, etc.

What would be the best websites/forums to do that research?  I also see that some townships require a permit to operate a short term rental.  What step of that process do you get the permit?... before you start getting it ready to rent out or do you get the permit when it's completely ready to rent? Thank you everyone for your responses. Yes I meant vacation rental / short term rental. I thought maybe covid would keep people from vacationing although it didn’t keep my husband and I home. Really excited to get started buying and renting.
