My wife and I have one little girl and plan on having one or two more babies. I actually took the last few months off to play the role of Mr. Mom. Hardest job I ever had but the most rewarding. It changed my life.

Congrats.

John,

You are 100% correct I did attend ACS-Cobham. When my family moved to London we had decided on the school first, but lived in The Vanderbilt Hotel on Cromwell for a month (I believe it is Radisson-Vanderbilt now). It was an hour commute but I told my parents it was fine and we could get a flat in London and I would make the commute everyday. We ended up living on Queen's Gate and I got the best of both worlds.

I made the best friends and had some amazing adventures. In fact five of the people in my wedding party were friends from London (one Finnish, one Saudi Arabian, one Greek and two Americans). In addition there were 15 people from ACS-Cobham at my wedding. To say the least London will always be a special to me.

Asheville is a great place to live and now with the world shrinking through technology, I am still connected to the world. I sent you a request and look forward to communicating with you and learning from you.

PS I cannot believe the boys did not qualify for Euro 2008 at least I do not have to change my sleeping schedule in the spring.

I used to take the Guilford via Woking train everyday during high school from London to Esher.

First District line from Gloucester Rd to Wimbeldon. Then from platform 13 the voice of Guilford via Woking service calling at Surbiton, Esher, Hersham, Walton upon Thames, Waybridge, Byfleet, Newhal, West Byfleet, Woking, Woppleston, and Guilford.....this is Wimbeldon

I may have missed spelled a few of the stops but it has been 12 years since I stood on platform 13. My London years were the best of my life.

Buy low sell high. If you have the funds it is a great time to buy. Although you have to look at what you can stomach because there will be some time before you see growth. Look at what your end goals are, the time period you can lock up your money, and the amount of risk you can tolerate.

Diversify and practice DCA (dollar cost averaging) whenever possible.

In contract terms it is called a sliding scale and they are placed in all types of contracts in a variety of industries.

If this than that.....is the essence of a contract. You are just defining the terms.

I used to work in Washington DC and it always amazed me the different issues that impacted different association, org, industry, ect. Issues that I would not have thought impacted a certain group.

So my question to the more seasoned members or anyone with insight into the real estate political issues-What are some of the issues I should be looking into as it relates to the real estate market?

It also varies from location to location. Old Town Alexandria I found to be at least in the ball park, but my house in NC is about $150K off and the specs are wrong. It is still fun to play with from time to time.

Why not me. I have the work ethic, I have the drive, but a corporation got all the benefit other then a few bonus checks a year and a $25 gift card to the local grocery store during the holidays.

I want to take care of my wife and children. It makes no sense to leave their destiny in the hands of a company I do not control.

It is clear you have a passion and understanding for the business. Age is really a state of mind and if you have the will and passion to win what should stop you. Dot your I's and cross the T's, learn something new everyday, and love what you do.

A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow. If you wait for the perfect plan you will be another person ten or twenty years from now explaining to someone why his/her idea is not going to work......progress killer.

Good luck and right forum choice to learn and network.
