Post: How to begin with little resources

Hi BP community!

My wife and I have very little resources right now to actually go out and buy our first property. Our goal is to be able to purchase a duplex and house hack in the future in the Oklahoma City area. Right now we have college loan debt, credit card debt, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in counseling psychology. We really do not have a lot of income coming in right now either. Other than focusing on paying off some of our debt, what are some things that we can be doing proactively to prepare for buying a duplex in the future?

I need some recommendations for a property manager, specifically in Lancaster, OH area. I also need a recommendation for a good contractor if anyone knows of one.

I have an interest in potentially switching from the job I have now to a real estate job of some sort. I am open to anything. I am completely new, and I do not have experience in any real estate jobs. I want to learn as much as I can, so what better way than though a real estate job.

Post: Should I invest in turnkey properties

@Ali Boone

I am interested in the Columbus market. I am new, never done a deal before, so I would ideally like to start out in my local area.

Turnkeys initally stood out to me because of the ease of process. Once I find a good turnkey company to work with, I can learn from an experienced mentor along the way.

What markets do you invest in?

@Corey Liepelt

Awesome! I have not started investing just yet. I am new, and I am working on my REI philosophy right now including my goals and criteria.

I am interested in house hacking, no/low money down properties, or turnkey.

As far as a market, I will probably start out in Columbus.
