Hello everyone my name is Joshua I am looking to house hack my first property in long Island. However I currently work in Brooklyn, and before anyone asks lol i can't transfer any closer. I am happy where I am with my job I am just honestly looking to buy my first property right. And let it grow from there.

However, when I think New Jersey might be a better option, this being said does anyone have neighborhoods that are up and coming? I am looking for a home in the price range of that can cash flow well of where I can life for far less. I am probably looking for a BRRR option, or a buy option is it needs a little work. Or a FSBO that becomes a Buy and hold.

Does anyone have any ideas where I should look?

Thanks for the reply. I am looking in new york, ( Westchester, Brentwood, Hempstead, Baldwin babylon mainly properties that I can either get really guilty tenets or section 8 tenets. This way the income will be almost guaranteed, or even the hipster types of people, but I really would like personal types. I would love to invest in queens, or Brooklyn since i work in BK And live in Queens, but as im sure you know you need at least a Million to even think about something in thoes areas.   But as for NJ ( Elizabeth, Patterson Jersey city area I live in Bayside queens and I eoulf like to be with in an hour and a 3 hour driving distance. But the closer the better. I am currently working a full time job. And currently i cant do what i really eant to do is a live in rental. Because I am still under lease with my land Lord. Also I would like small multi-family homes.
