Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has ever done business with Abigail land holdings? I am trying to get in touch with them about a house that they won at tax auction 3 years ago, but have gotten no response. I've used all the contacts that I can find through public records, but have had no success. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks everyone for the help. The Holding company is Abigail land holdings. I have tried to contact the attorney that is listed as an agents, but i have gotten no response.  I will keep at it, and hopefully something will come of it. I feel like there is a good opportunity with this house, but I'm not sure how costly it would be to get a free and clear title if I am able to make contact with anyone.

@Mitch Messer Thank you for the advice. I will definitely look into attending some local real estate meetings. Being an introvert I really want to step out of my comfort zone, and start networking with other investors. I will work on my profile asap. Thanks again!!!

Good afternoon,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to approach other investors in my area? I am really wanting to get into real estate, but my main issue is experience. I am on BP everyday listening to podcast, and searching through the forums soaking up all of the information that I can. I am wanting to help other investors in any way that I can, in order to learn from them. I understand that I need them more than they need me, and I want to benefit them as well. Time is money in this industry, and I don't want to waste anyone's time. Any advice on the right and wrong way to approach this situation is very appreciated.

Post: Purchasing abandoned property from tax lien investment company

Good afternoon everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has ever purchased properties or dealt with Abigail Land Holdings? They have llc's all over the country. They seem to invest in tax liens. A SFH that I have had my eye own for awhile seems to now be owned by them according to the tax assessors website. They must have met the 3 year grace period for anyone to come forward, and taken ownership.

The original owner is deceased, and has been for a few years. He had no mortgage, and no kids or wife. He also had no will. He was my grandpa’s neighbor for many years. It seems to be a good house for my first investment, but I’m not sure how to proceed. Are these type of companies interested in keeping the properties long term, or do they just want their investment back plus interest? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone has tips on networking with local investors. I am looking to step out of my comfort zone, and meet new people. Real estate seems to rely a lot on networking, and that has always been one of my weak points in life. Hopefully I can overcome this, and learn from seasoned investors in my area. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Robert,

Thanks for the information. Being new to real estate, the terminology is probably what scares me the most. I was hoping this would be my first attempt at the brrrr method. That being said, I surely do not want to run into any title issues.

How does purchasing the property from these Lien investment companies usually work? Do they own the property out right? Also, does Louisiana have a grace period for any heirs to try and regain ownership of the property that was bought via this method? I’m trying do as much research as I can on this topic, but it seems like tax lien properties are a long drawn out process, especially for someone who is new to real estate.
