I feel ya!!  I want to shake people every time they write "get a property manager."  And that's their entire answer.

Well guess what, some of us live in such rural areas that property management companies don't exist in the area.  So unless you want to deal with someone 1+ hours away that doesn't know a darn thing about the community then you're stuck doing it all yourself.

I hear ya, some users that post do tend to leave out simple key details in their inquiries which then it leaves it open ended and lots of assumptions from many members in different directions occur. A post like that is fair game for everyone share their insights as they are trying to help out.

Just sharing the following in case someone is reading first time users. Before posting review it to make sure it is a clear enough story to your question. But obviously that takes time to know what to ask, or what will trigger good feedback and interaction from members or realize oh crap I should of added this to the question or take this part out. I experienced this before from my end. But it gets better.

Also select your specific area/region for your post.

Now I am curious, there is really such a rural place with zero property managers? Isn't that saying like there is zero real estate agents in your rural area? At least there has to be one available.

@Joshuam R. We are all probably aware of a few members whose posts are always just a sentence or maybe 2 at the most. Or those that always use AI or copy and paste..... An obvious attempt to drive up numbers and very little substantive use.

But then there are other members who post a lot, but usually with an intent to be helpful....and even get long-winded at times. I hope you don't object to those people?

Correct Bruce, and yes I never do. Writing all their thoughts takes time and I value all of that. But I say like 1% give an answer or just a phrase that is not helpful and is 180 degrees opposite direction from what the original post was intended to birth and hopefully helpful to others as it grows. That 1% pebble in my shoe comments. As Aaron mentioned a "Report/Abuse-Off Topic" should be their reward.

It is annoying for others reading a post, then reading 30 members responses, and 10 of them are just not healthy filter when users are digging for clarity.

I actually posted this to vent in a satire type of way in this forum category, but glad the Bigger Pockets excellent customer service chime in and has a very helpful solution to help their forum product/ platform.

Thanks @Joshuam R. avoiding the engineer route. I am waiting on a full replacement estimate to leverage with the seller. The property already has a fairly sizable shed and comps don't support nixing a garage. We also have issues filling SFR in our market without garages. I do appreciate the creative solution and I otherwise like the idea. If I could go that route I probably go with a lattice option to avoid adding extra garden work that future tenants won't handle.

 excellent path forward, congrats.

As long as you don't use it on my posts,  I'm okay with it!

lol, it won't be able to catch up with you on while sitting on that horsepower lol.

Getting pretty sick and tired and annoyed with the top contributors in forums just posting random little answers has nothing to do with answering the posted question or helpful. They do it just to get more activity points or share how more amazing or greater they are than your posted question. Ridiculous, I am starting to call them out every chance I run into them.

But boy oh boy a nice magenta color dislike button would be fun!

Hook it up BP

Use the "Report Abuse" function and we'll look into it (in the menu below the post). Otherwise, don't engage with it or you just make the problem worse.

Correct Aaron not here to make the problem worse, I also no longer do a courtesy vote anymore for engagements to my posts. And yes, I understand, I also do no interact with empty comments. Once in a blue I do point out kindly to the individual that their comment has zero intensions to the original posts.

Thank you for the function option you mentioned. Good to know. Was what I explain actually falls under "Report Abuse" for the wasted empty comments from others?

What would you need us to word it as when reported?

"Comment does not apply", "comment for self-glorification", or .....?

I appreciate your feedback.

It it doesn't apply to the topic at hand, then it's pretty much just spam. Maybe we could add an "Off Topic" option to that menu.

Okay, that is 100% wonderful, click on Report Abuse, then category would be off topic, excellent. very nice.

Get a cost comparison value for that garage, then get it discounted of the purchase price if possible. Then demo it, and add a shed on concrete piles with wood floor framing cost effective and adds new storage to the property.

Glad the rest of the house passed.

Best wishes. Thanks for sharing.

for the side, zero gravel or fill, just add some garden type planter or few plants on nice pots to fill the side. feels like the view may be you step out of the home on the back and you see that garage, it would be a nice touch and life added to it.

Aloha,

I would not waste money on an engineer, just Demo it. The foundation is bulging because it was not properly laid, with apparently no rebar, or proper footings. You will spend more than the cost of new to have experts study it, and try to restore it to a square and safe condition.

 100% correct.

All excellent answers and suggestions.

I say your first option posted was the selling part which deep down you may already know within your new journey and circumstances is the way to go. But option 2 kicks in when you remember and realize the hard work and emotional milestone attachment of the "forever home" you accomplished and somehow would love to hold on to it.

Let it go, and stay away from that phrase, Planet Earth is your home, and also even that us here is not forever.

Best wishes! and once you get here, "Welcome to Florida!"
