Post: Early Life Success Stories

I've been spending the past year and a half researching real estate, trying to read as many books, watch as many videos, and talk to as many people as I can about the topic. I am currently in college, age 21, but my goal is to be financially independent by the time I am 30 (at a younger age would be happily accepted as well). I am still highly motivated in learning about the topic, but for now I feel I have to wait to graduate from college first before I dive into it, though I have been debating house-hacking as of lately.. I was just looking to hear of other people's success stories at a younger age, doesn't have to necessarily be someone who went to college, just trying to make sure that I am doing everything I can right now to be at least somewhat prepared once I graduate to dive into real estate. Thanks!! p.s. - I know you can never know everything and I understand mistakes are a huge part in growth, I just don't want to regret having not spent time learning/doing something before I get into the RE world.

JD Martin,

I forgot to mention that my engineering program is a 5-year program, so I have two more years of college left.

Also, I do plan on staying in the area so house hacking was something I was looking at. I do need to do more research on the housing market as it might be too saturated with student housing right now for me to be able to compete against some of the larger rental companies.

Hi all, I'm currently entering my fourth year of studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Akron. I've slowly but progressively become more and more interested in real estate; reading books, listening to podcasts, watching YouTube videos, and even attending a few meetups. I get more anxious to start investing the longer I wait! As of right now my plan is to wait until I graduate, ideally receive a full-time engineering job, and then begin my real estate journey. Any thoughts on if I sped the process up and began investing, say next Summer 2020? I have student loans out and only have a co-op (internship) that rotates every other semester, so would a bank even be willing to loan to me? Any ideas/knowledge is much appreciated.
