Looking at an R6 SFH in Baltimore City (Charles Village). It's big so I would love to break it up and house hack. My agent's manager is telling us that any house zoned this way can be legally divided into 2 units. I can't find any documentation to support this so I am thinking they are incorrect. In addidtion, I don't think Baltimore City has yet approved an accessory dwelling unit regualtion, even though there has been discussion at city council on it.

Anyone have experience with a situation like this?

Thanks Jack. Had not thought about the parking. In addition to the building permits/codes, I'm wondering if there are regs prohibiting me from doing this altogether. This is essentially creating a multifamily without separate utilities, so I'm curious if anyone knows if this is OK as long as I make the unit connected by a door or two to the rest of the house?

I'm looking at a single family home in Baltimore. I would like to create an in-law suite of sorts, add a separate entrance plus kitchenette, and rent it out. Does anyone know if there are particular regulations around this? I'm having trouble getting in touch with the city.
