thanks for everyone's input. 

I didn't know there were ethics rules. I just downloaded nar 2016 code of ethics. Does this apply to agents or only realtors. Also I just started reading it so if anyone knows what article deals with marketing let me know.

What would happen if I did put out bandit signs? I have a megaton of creative marketing ideas that I haven't seen agents do and I am wondering why. One form of creative marketing that I have used in other industries and had success with is flyers taped to trash cans on trash day. My question is why do agents only do certain types of marketing and would there be any repercussions if I used creative marketing?

Hi everybody. Im not an agent yet but I am signing up for classes in January. My question is what kind of marketing is not allowed or frowned upon. The only thing I have received from an agent has been direct mail. I see wholesaler bandit signs every time I get in the car but I have never seen an agent do similar. 

Thanks Mindy. I ended up contacting the state board and they basically said the same thing as Scott. I have a good feeling about my case so Im going to go for it.

Hello everyone. I want to be an agent. I live in Charlotte NC and want to know if I am eligible to become an agent with my record. In 2003 at the age of 18 I was arrested twice. Misdemeanor larceny then a DWI. Since then I have been cleared by CMS(School) to work around children and I was cleared to install a security system in the federal reserve. Can I become an agent? I dont want to waste time with schooling if I cant get licensed. Thanks.
