And don't worry I'm not taking it in a negative way, I really do appreciate your advise. That's the whole reason I'm doing this, to gain different perspectives and choose my own that I feel is best suited for me! :)
I appreciate your input on education! My plan involves some down time between getting the BS and MBA which I will be investing. I know plans change and mine most likely will but it it always good to have a plan and begin with the end in mind. I'm not sure whether I want to go into managing or researching now so I said both, which I might do both as well, who knows! Real estate wise... the BRRRR consists of Buying Rehab Renting Refinance Repeat Therefore, once I get the ball rolling it will be hell trying to stop it. Now, getting the ball rolling is a whole different story. I plan on taking personal loans from family in order to put a down payment down and rehabilitate the house. Then, once I get a tenant or more than one, I will begin to roll the ball. There are multiple ways to get the money, but I believe that if it is a good investment, people will flock to it. I also want to start investing now in order to increase my asset column while I am in college. This will minimize my student debt when I get out and could possibly completely negate it. Feel free to give advise on any of the points made, and thank you for your reply!
Oh by the way, I'm from Wentzville, MO, just outside of St Louis.
Hello everybody on BP! My name is Josh Hickman and I am a senior in High School. My educational goal is to get a BS in Mechanical engineering and an MBA, then go back and get a Physics degree. That being said, I lack the funds for this aggressive approach at education, since college is so expensive nowadays!! Anyway, I decided to look for ways to increase my positive cash flow, besides being an employee. I Researched, Read, and listened to podcasts which eventually lead me here!! I am extremely interested in real estate investing and I am excited to get started and start learning and growing. I think the best beginner approach for me is the BRRRR strategy, which I will be doing with my business partner, a buddy of mine, Troy. Feel free to give me tips: including things that most people only learn through failures, what to do and not to do, tips on communication and networking, and anything else. And please feel free to contact me. I am very excited to learn and grow larger as a real estate investor. Ecstatic to be a part of this forum!
