Yes! This! This is GENIUS! I am going to do exactly that... there are a couple of other sea/ocean themed wines as well, this will fill out an empty shelf above the wine glasses... it will be on theme, look amazing in photos, and be 100% alcohol free (without pissing anyone off!)

Since this is not automatic, doesn't it still leave open the possibility of a double booking?

Lots a great feedback, thank you so much everyone! This was basically the conclusion I had come to, but then I happened to come across a wine that has the same name/theme as my unit (Sea Glass Sunrise/Seaglass Wine) and it just got me thinking again!

I agree with the overwhelming sentiment here that it's a bad idea... however, what about a non-alcoholic wine? The same company makes an NA version... is that too goofy?

When I was traveling in Europe, Airbnb's often included a bottle of wine. I think it would be a nice touch for my STR, but I'm not sure about the legalities. Any doing this, or have any experience or knowledge to share?

Great feedback, @Andrew Steffens, thank you!

What do people think of Airbnb's "Extra Guest Fee"? Good idea, bad idea?

Thanks @Lauren Kormylo and @Michael Baum for the different perspectives!

In my case, we sleep a max of 4, and typically only 2, so it wouldn't balloon up the total too much.

Curious if anyone else has tried this with smaller maximums?

What do people think of Airbnb's "Extra Guest Fee"? Good idea, bad idea? I've recently had to switch cleaners and that is costing me an additional $50/stay. I could pass this along directly in the cleaning charge, but I feel like that is a more visible competitive differentiator. I thought maybe I could recoup most of it by added a $10 or $20/night extra guest fee. Thoughts?

Just closing the loop on this thread... I have installed the Schlage Encode based on the consensus above. Easy install and setup, and looks like it will definitely do everything I need. Many thanks for everyones input.

Quote from @Dewayne Perry:

The Schlage encode connects directly to WiFi. There’s not a version that connects to a hub.

Thanks @Dewayne Perry, that is what I've discovered too now that I've installed one. I think it was just the way the manufacturer described it. I appreciate your confirmation.

Quote from @January Johnson:

LOTS of people in beach markets like mine report the Schlage Encode has issues with the humidity/moisture.  I don't use them - I'm just reporting.

Thanks @January Johnson, that's good to know! I'll definitely keep an eye on that and maybe put a little sealant around the edges. This is definitely at the beach, but it will at least be well covered in the particular location I'm using it.
