Wow Ali Boone !!! Thanks for taking the time to write your response. I will heed your advice and stick to GA (or neighboring markets). I knew it sounded fishy because of some obvious reasons but I didn't know Cali was a pain when it came to landlording properties. Thanks again, you rock!!

So I'm following a lead that a wholesaler sent my way. It's for a 8unit (1br/1bth) MFR located in Deser Hot Springs, California. It is priced in the mid $100s and is fully occupied. Each unit is rented out for $500 for a total of $4k/mo.

The problem is that Im in the east coast and have NO IDEA about the market over by that area. Any local investors in this area that can shed some light and help me determine if this is a good potential deal?

Thanks ahead of time.

Wow Bill Goodland that was an amazing response! You see Justin Nichols , that is why the BiggerPockets community ROCKS!!! Great advice all around! I have done some stock market trading (nothing crazy) and have been turned ontu Real Estate. Nothing compares like being in control of your assets and being able to react when anything happens. I too am new to this but have LEARNED a lot through reading blogs, hearing podcasts and following the books published by BP. Oh, the weekly webinars, how can I forget? They are gold!!! Anywho, even though you arrived to BP "mistakenly"... you were meant to be here. So welcome!!

Wow, that was an amazing podcast! Arianne, your story is truly inspiring. Congratulations to you and your husband for growing your company so quickly. Finally, thank you for sharing your story with all of us.

Cheers!

Hello Bigger Pockets family!

My name is Jose Perez and I'm a real estate investing newbie from Atlanta, Ga. I moved to ATL about a year and a half ago and absolutely love it out here and believe there is a lot of opportunity to grow.

I'm originally from Central Florida but changed states in 2016. Since then my wife and I had an adorable baby girl (who turned 1 year old 3 days ago on the 3rd of July) and she is WHY I want to become an investor. I already work from home (Software Engineer for my own small business) but I want more time freedom to spend with my growing family.

I currently am 1 of 3 partners who own a small business that offers software and other services to the Automotive Industry in the Caribbean. But I'm getting tired of sitting in front of a computer all day. I KNOW I will excel in this business because I have always had a passion for it but recently was pushed and motivated by my wife to finally do it.

I have access to some funds (through the company that I part own) so that might be helpful to start up but something inside me tells me to pursue this 100% on my own. (If any of you can give me any advice on this subject I would greatly appreciate it).

I'm attracted to rental property investment and can't wait to own my first MFR (either through my small business, or by myself). I would like to complete 1 flip this year and possible secure an MFR by the end of 2017.

I'm hooked on BP and can't wait to see what the future holds, what kind of deals I can work on with seasoned ATL investors.

Look forward to getting to know you guys,

Jose P.

Post: [Regular] LLC vs Nevada LLC? Corp?

Hello Bigger Pockets! So I'm new here and to this business and wanted to start off the right way. I know since I'm starting I have no assets to protect but I rather do this now than after I do my first, second or third deal.

So the members would me my wife and I. I read about some advantages about a Nevada LLC and wanted to see what some of you thought about it. I currently live in the state of Georgia and most likely will be doing the majority of my business here. I know I would have to register it in this state as well. So do you guys think there is an advantage in forming a regular LLC vs a Nevada LLC? If so, should I do it on my own or go through Nevada Corporate Headquarters (NCH)?

Thanks ahead of time for your replies!
