Does anyone have a bank/lender referral for the metro Denver area?  I'm looking at investing in my first property (single family or duplex) for a long-term buy and hold strategy in the Denver metro area and am considering a conventional mortgage.  Recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon

Tripp, thanks for the advice.  I will research Arvada.

Indeed a small world, I've passed through Iganga a couple times.  I hope she is enjoying her stay.

Hi Tom, yes I think I would use a property manager while overseas.  I can't see myself putting the burden of being a landlord on my friends or family, unless we make a more formal arrangement.  I'd like to buy property where there is a value add option, but not a major renovation given my location.  Thanks for the recommendation.

Bryan, thanks for the tips.  I know the Denver market is really hot right now and jumping in would be  a challenge.  What's your opinion on metro Denver and areas that will be close to the new rail line from downtown to the airport?  Yes, I've received multiple feedback that a property manager is invaluable for an overseas investor.  If you don't mind me asking what properties are you invested in?  I see you are from CO as well.

Hi, I am based overseas and want to invest in real estate back in the U.S. I am most interested in a buy and hold strategy for duplexes. I own a home in Denver, CO and have family in the Tampa, FL, Shepherdstown, VA and Plattsburgh, NY area. I would prefer to invest in or around these areas where I have a familiarity and a connection so I can get help when I need it. Does anybody have a recommended geography from the locations described above where I am likely to find better cash flow and appreciation over time? Thx.

Hello, I am a U.S. citizen residing in Kampala, Uganda. I am interested in purchasing a duplex or triplex in the U.S. under a buy and hold strategy.  I am new to real estate investing and am seeking recommendations on how best to purchase U.S. real estate while living abroad.  The challenge I face is the limited ability I have to scout and investigate opportunities in person.  Any advice on how to get started or general tips for buying real estate remotely would be appreciated.
