@John--- The reason I ask is all the material would be tax deductible. She is not in an LLC. She is just an investor but if she can hire me to do the rehab my LLC benefits and so does our tax situation b/c her gains would be my losses.

I'm the sole employee in my handyman LLC. My wife wants to invest in a house to hold or flip. She is not part owner of my LLC. Can she legally hire me and my LLC to do the rehab work? I would like to buy the materials etc. through my LLC but don't know if that is legal or not? The house would be in her name.

There is no negotiating with the plaintiff it's OCWEN out of Florida and they don't even answer their phones unless you have a customer number it's a dead end. They are a debt collection agency. The problem is the house is shot, had squatters etc. it's in northern Wi. As it sits now it's only worth about 25K if the septic and well are OK. They are under water for 100K. The bank for 84K and township for 16K. I talked to the township and they have no idea if they are going to get anything. My best bet is to try a local attorney again from that area or check with a title company.

Thanks Nick, the township was named as a defendant in the 1st foreclosure hearing but they were dismissed.  The township then filed and their docket date is 9 months after the mortgage holders.

I'm interested in buying a sheriff sale property. There are 2 liens on the property the 1st filed by the mortgage holder and the 2nd filed by the township the house is in. The 2nd one is for $16,000 from a block grant for home improvements. I know tax liens are always paid out but I'm wondering how block grants work?  Would I be on the hook for the 16K above the purchase price? I've called to attorneys in that area and neither has called back. Thanks for any info
