Thanks for your thoughts. True that what POTUS says and what Congress produces can be very different things!

Here is some good news. DC had highest per capital income in 2016:  http://wtop.com/business-finance/2017/03/dc-per-capita-income-25-percent-higher-national-average/

I'm with @Account Closed- whatever changes are proposed in any agency in DC, it may be a long time before they're ever implemented and if they are ever to be implemented it could be under a new admin that ends up not bringing it about. D.C. bureaucracy...

Does DC and recession belong in the same sentence? Curious what people might think about the talk regarding the new budget proposal and a possible recession in the DC area? I've heard speculation of home prices dropping 3%

Welcome @Dalton DesRoches! Best of luck with the CPA pursuit. Duplexes to hack are a bit scarce in the area and when they do surface the numbers don't seem to work out well, but you may have more luck than I have. Keep us posted with how you progress.
