Since Louisville is near the Ohio river, the Ohio river connects with the Mississippi river all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico. That is causing lots of big companies to move into Louisville because its more economic to transfer goods in bulk by barge using the river. Heavy development in the inner city is creating many jobs.
