@Anthony Pascual I’m from So Cal too, and I’ve found North Carolina to be pretty appealing. The people there are pretty upbeat like CA, but prices can be found for a good amount less there. It’s good to understand the areas you invest in, so if you don’t have anywhere out of state that you’ve lived or understand, North Carolina might be a good place to look. There’s lots of folks on here to connect with in NC, however it will be important to find your nitch first and decide what sized multi family you want to get into, or if you want to invest in single family houses! I should be moving my business near the Asheville/ Charlotte areas in the next year or so and it’s pretty good growth out there.

@Jason DiClemente ok, I like that perspective. “Rich” could be a large sum of money, while I imagine wealth as you describe it, to bring that passive income, like trees growing, vs a hamburger that is only good for a bit, but once you eat half of it, the other half is only going to last for so long.

@Jeff Ronningen I like what you say about it involving “timing”. That makes me think of a lion crouched waiting for his meal. He’s actively hunting, but it takes time to wait for the prey to come close to where he is ready to pounce on it quickly. Also, very good analogy of sports or pianists, everyone should know the only way to get to the top of those is to spend hours and hours of time doing the thing you love to do.

@Roger Steciak wow, I agree with what you say.. if someone gets a large sum of money quickly, they really need the financial intelligence to back it up. I was reading Donald Trump’s book, Think Like A Champion and he really recommended increasing your financial intelligence, then at the end he recommended Cashflow quadrant. Went to get that and found Rich D P D. I guess in perspective, getting rich quick to most is landing some lottery, or gamble. I see getting rich quick as maybe 2-5 years of RE investing. Which it sounds like most intelligent investors are planning RE investments to play out over 10-20 year cycles.

@Jeff Cagle I think it may not hurt a guy too much to try to get rich quick, if he has some vision to it, such as a 2 year time frame he is willing to try for it, and a certain amount of debt he is willing to assume. If he goes broke, then he could always go with the wise advice of the “been there, done that” investors. Sounds like it is usually faster to follow the advice of sound investors.

@James Galla sure, but some people on BP are scaling really fast and I would consider some of them to have gotten rich quick. However, I’m sure they had building blocks that lead them to where they could scale quick
