Hi - I'm looking for a good back on using VRBO for vacation rentals. My experience to date has been using a property manager for long term rentals.  Can anyone recommend a good book?  Thanks.

Hi - I'm considering the purchase of an investment property on Lake Hartwell in Georgia/South Carolina.  Is this area good for rentals, either short-term or long-term?  Also, are there any particular towns around the lake that are better?  The long-term goal is to have a lake-front property to use during the winter.

I received a fee quote of $2,600 to paint a townhome.  The townhome is 1,620 square feet.  3BR, 1.5BA, and a finished basement.  I know it's difficult to assess without seeing the property but does that seem high?

Hi - I know in the past, Bigger Pockets has conducted surveys of its members requesting information such as number of investment properties owned, number of years investing, etc.  Does anybody know where they are on the website?  I haven't had any luck finding them.

Thanks for your responses.  I was thinking the cost would be much more.  On top of the Section 1031 fees, I would expect you would have all your normal closing costs, including a 6% commission on the sale of the property correct?
