Lake Hartwell Investment Property in Georgia/South Carolina

Hi - I'm considering the purchase of an investment property on Lake Hartwell in Georgia/South Carolina.  Is this area good for rentals, either short-term or long-term?  Also, are there any particular towns around the lake that are better?  The long-term goal is to have a lake-front property to use during the winter.
